I am not able to open up Color on my older PowerBook G4. When I try to open I get a box that says I need 128MB of VRAM, and my system only has 64MB of VRAM. I have a 1.5 Ghz Processor and 1 GB DDR SDRAM. I have just purchased another gig of memory, but will that help? I have to admit I don’t know what VRAM is. Thanks!

Color will not run on a G4. I can’t run it on a G5 without upgrading my graphics card.

Works on my G4 1.67GHz 15″ PowerBook with 2GB RAM and the ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 graphics – 128MB… of course the GUI is pretty hard to read, so only use it in a pinch.

VRAM stands for video ram, and it refers to how much ram your video card has built onto it.

You would need a better graphics card to run the application, but because you are on a laptop it is not something that can be upgraded.

If you wish to use the application Color you will need to get a new machine.

The minimum specs for Color (and all the other FC Studio apps) are on this
    page

I suspect that these same specs are also printed on the box you purchased, or at least in the documentation inside.

Since your Powerbook does not meet the minimum specs, you will need to buy a new Mac.
