Can’t layoff 23.98 1080sf using FCP7, AJA Kona LHi and Sony SRW-5800
Hoping someone can help with this. I’m trying to layoff to tape at 23.98 1080psf using FCP7 and is going to a Sony SRW-5800 HDCAM SR deck. I’m connected to the deck by AJA Kona LHi card via SDI.
I am able to capture from the deck at 23.98 with no problem and I can layoff at 29.97 also without problem but when I layoff at 23.98 all I get is black on the tape. FCP7, the deck and the Kona card are all set at 23.98 1080sf. Can anyone offer a solution to this?

I have used the very same setup plenty of times without any issues. It’s hard to determine what the issue might be without knowing the specific settings in either the Kona control panel, the deck and/or FCP7
Do you get an image on the SRW front panel display? What happens when you use Aja’s VTR exchange? I’d start there so you can narrow down what the culprit might be.
I assume you have set the SRW to 23.98fps 4:2:2 mode, right?——
