I’m new at this so please excuse me. I had 40+ gig in rendered files which I no longer needed. After much searching (I’m new to the Mac also), I found a folder inside “Package contents” named with the files
I no longer needed. I deleted it but now I can’t open the program. Coincidence or was there something else I still needed in that folder. I tried reinstalling FCP but to no avail. Any thoughts? Thank you.

You are NOT supposed to open the FCP package. The render files are in the project folder, together with the capture scratch folder ..etc.

Very strange that reinstalling did not work. Try deleting the prefs files. Use the great utility fcp rescue. (look for it at macupdate.com)

Good luck, you will probably get a good grip on whats going on in a short while
