    Hi, when i try to import clips : .avi, it only shows the audio !
    I work on

    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Service Pack 1
    Acer Aspire M1641
    Intel Pentium Dual CPU E220 @ 2.20GHz
    4,00 GB RAM Memory
    32-bits

    can anyone please help me!

    AVI is just a file wrapper for the actual video. The video itself could use any of a number of codecs. (note: codecs are the algorithm used to encode and decode the video or audio)

    When Vegas imports only audio, this usually means that you either don’t have the correct video codec for the file or the video codec is not support by Vegas.

    First download a utility like GSpot and drop your AVI file into it and find out what codec it uses. Then make sure that you have that codec installed. If you do and Vegas still doesn’t import your video, then it’s a codec that Vegas doesn’t support and you will need to use some other program (like Super(c)) to convert the file into a format that Vegas can edit.

    done that, the codec is XVID, i downloaded the codec, installed it, rebooted my PC and couldnt get it to work either !
    Any other solutions ?

    That’s because Vegas doesn’t support Xvid or DivX.

    Yes, read the rest of my original post:
