Can’t import video into comps
I am using Media 100 v8.2.3 and cannot import any video into my comps. I’ve tried importing through the Media 100 bin browser as well as through a direct file import and nothing happens, it just shows a blank screen. The name of the file appears on the left side and the green bar appears when I hit the drop down arrow on the comp line, but no video appears. I also have a problem with my video thumbnails in my bin being purple. Is this all related?

This sounds like another QuickTime 7.5.5 victim. QuickTime 7.5.5 is NOT compatible with Media 100, since Apple broke the MJPEG B codec, which is the base of the Media 100 i codec with this update. QuickTime 7.6 is supposed to fix that (whenever that gets released). If you search through this forum, you will find a step-by-step explanation how to downgrade from QuickTime 7.5.5 to QuickTime 7.5.
