In Vegas Pro 8 I am unable to import video from a DVD. I have tried two separate DVD drives and several sources. The window pops up as if it is going to start importing the DVD and then disappears without having done anything. What can I do?

If it’s a miniDVD disc, was it finalized?
If it’s a copyrighted DVD, Vegas won’t import it.
If it’s not copyrighted, try the “File – Import – DVD Camcorder Disc” method.

I’ve been able to do this by using import media, then in the dropdown select all files types, then you should be able to see the VOB files on the DVD. You can drag them to the timeline in the correct order to get the full video. You’ll have to save the project with the media to your hard drive before editing or even playing as it will try and read the VOB files from the DVD as it’s playing. Danny

here is what you do… when the import window open, don’t forget to specify a destination folder, which has to be different from the dvd location, (when the import window open it will have the destination location, same as the import dvd location, you must change that in order for vegas pro to star importing) and sorry for my English hope that helps you.
