    Hi, Everyone.

I’m working on a Red-shot job in Premiere. For some reason, when I import the red footage folders, an error message comes up saying the files are in an unsupported format or damaged…and they won’t come into Premiere. However, if I wait for the yellow conform bar to stop moving, I can click on one R3D file and import it. I then have to wait for the conform to stop, before dragging in another file. The people I’m working with have said that this is irregular behaviour, as they didn’t experience this problem with the last project they worked on.

Has anyone else heard of this happening? Is there a solution that anyone can think of? Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

Are you using Premiere’s Media Browser?

I didn’t use the media browser…just the project panel. Would that really make a difference?

Cool. Thanks for letting me know. This situation was resolved a different way, but will keep this in mind for the future.

Also if you need to import a lot of R3D stuff another way is to search the folder with your operating systems search function for *001.r3d files and import those. The media browser just shows what clips it actually finds without seeing the metadata files etc.

I’m sorry. I’ve forgotten, as it was so long ago and I rarely use Premiere these days. I think maybe we had to bring the files in in small batches.
