Can’t import .mxf video files in Premiere CS5
Hi all!
I’ve just installed Premiere CS5 and imported some .mxf files to a project. But premiere just recognizes the audio tracks, it don’t recognizes the video ones.. it’s like it was a simple audio file.. and i can see the video outside premiere.. anyone knows why is this happening?
With cs4 i never had this problem.

What is the codec for the video in those files? What kind of MXF files? MXF is just a generic container format.

The files are from a Sony XDCAM. In cs4 i use to import them normally without problems, in cs5 it seems like they are just an audio file

Is this the trial version of Premiere Pro CS5? The XDCAM video importer isn’t included in the trial version. See the limitations of the trial version.
Have you installed the Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.2) update? That update fixes a lot of problems.
Have you tried to import the exact same files into Premiere Pro CS4, using the same method? Do they work in Premiere Pro CS4 but not Premiere Pro CS5?

That was it, i was running the trial version –‘
I just checked the adobe infos and it says that in trial version HD is not supported. Guess i should have read it first –‘Thank you all for your help 😉
