    when i try an import a model from c4d into 3d invigorator in after effects it says it is the wrong file format or it is an unsupported version. i have tried a lot of different formats. anyone know how to fix this?

    Zaxworks claims that Invigorator supports .dxf format–did you try exporting to .dxf?

    I can’t vouch for this as I do not have access to either product as this point, but a friend needed to do the same solution and in the end I supplied him with a 3DS model which worked well. I don’t think the latest C4D format is supported by invig and I don’t believe you can save down to version 9 or even 8.5 (not sure which invig supports).

    Also remember to dumb it down for invig, I had to pull out all the crazy textures, splines and make sure everything was polygon based. You may simply have something in your structure that invig doesn’t understand, at least we got that error due to that.
