Sorry in advance, although I have searched for similar posts and found nothing exactly like my specific problem.

I just recently upgraded my computer to Windows 7 64bit, I installed Sony Vegas Pro 10 and when I try to import an .avi file I get the error message
“Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files.
An error occurred while opening a codec”

If i click details it says
    “C:……X.avi could not be opened”

Since just recently uninstalling a codec pack (K-Lite) that I had downloaded, because I thought that might be the problem, the only media player I’ve found so far that I can play the .avi file in which has the video AND audio working is VLC. Windows media player and media player classic used to work when I had K-Lite installed, but now they only play the audio.

With and without the codec pack I had, I still get the exact same error when trying to import the .avi file into Vegas.

The .avi file was made using fraps, which is a screen capture software.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
