  • can’t HDV capture from Sony hdr-fx7

I have Media Composer 3.1.3 and am trying to capture HDV Pal from a Sony hdr-fx7 camcorder to a Mac with OS 10.5.5. I have the the project settings at 1080i/50 and HDV and the camcorder is set export out HDV. One of the errors I have been getting is: ADM_DIO_Error: no valid input signal. I would appreciate anyone’s help in figuring out how to capture this footage. Thanks in advance.

I’m unfamiliar with this camera, but a few months ago I got the same error with a Canon XH G1 and Media Composer 2.2.15. Turns out the footage was accidentally shot in 24p mode which is not supported by Avid. Hope this sheds some light on the issue.
