Can’t get “VTR OK” to come up for Capturing HD video
I’m running FCP 6.0.1 using Leopard 10.5.1 on a MacBook Pro.
I’m running a HDMI cable out of a Sony GV-HD700 player to an AJA ioHD converter with Firewire running out to the laptop AND eSata cables (eSata DE500 external hard drive being used) also connecting to the laptop with the appropriate card. I’m pretty sure the video is 1080i 25….the guy I’m helping out with this shot the footage on a Sony HDR-FX7. I’ve tried various configuration set-ups with the Device Control and the Capture/Input setting in FCP to no avail. The proper drives for the AJA unit have been installed. Any suggestions would be welcome.

HDMI can’t control a tape drive. You need to route control through Firewire or RS422.
