Can’t get keyframe view in timeline
I have finally crossed over from FCP to Premiere Pro (via Creative Cloud) and am having trouble with a few little things. My first frustration is that I can’t get the expanded view of the clips in the timeline that you got in FCP – ie line through the middle of the clip that you could use to instantly adjust levels, add keyframes etc.
I have consulted the help manuals, which all claim there is a triangle to the left of the timeline which I can click to expand the track to view fey frames. THERE IS NO TRIANGLE! The various screen grabs I see do not match what I have on my screen. Is there some secret way to find the magic triangle? It’s getting a bit frustrating having to go into the Effect Controls window every time I need to adjust something.

Hi Kim,
It appears the manuals you were referring to are from CS6. In Premiere Pro CC keyfames are not visible be default. To enable go to> Timeline Display Settings (wrench icon) ‘Show Video Keyframes’.
See picture for reference. You can also expand the track height by using your mouse wheel at the track head.

I’ll add some confusion. I downloaded the Premiere Pro CC trial software on both my MacBook Pro laptop and my MacPro desktop system.
There is no collapse-expand twirly on my MacBook Pro laptop, but it’s there on my MacPro desktop system. Conversely, there’s no “wrench” button on my desktop system software, but it’s there on my laptop.
Another discrepancy involves Lumetri Looks, which is there under the “Effects” tab on my laptop system, but is absent on my desktop system.
I’m puzzled as to why the same software, downloaded on two different systems, would function differently, but I’m brand new at this, so maybe there’s a reason I haven’t figured out yet.
