    Hi all,
I’m using Premiere Pro 1. I’m capturing with a GL-1 to a 300 gig drive that I got in January. I didn’t have any problems with it until March when I did a Windows Update. I also have a Canon ZR model that I can capture from as well.
The problem is that it will capture for about 20 seconds, then stop and give me a “Can’t Find Timecode” during capture error.

I can capture to my 100 gig drive and copy the files to the 300 drive, but that takes forever.

I have changed the settings on which drive is the master and which is the slave, but that didn’t help. I have defragged it and ran an error check, but that didn’t correct it either.

Did the Windows Update affect it in any way? Seems odd that it happened at that time and didn’t affect the 100 gig drive.

    Any suggestions?

It may have. Did you update to SP2? If so, then it is very likely that the update caused the issues you are experiencing. Is the 300gig drive external?

No. The drive is internal. I believe it was SP2. Is there a way to fix the problem?

Did you turn off all the annoying SP2 security settings, firewall, DED, etc? Also turn off the restore-monitoring for all drives except the system drive?

Sometimes instead of doing all this detective work, it might be faster to just try re-installing Premiere.

    Good luck, n.m.

I just tried un-installing and re-installing Premiere? A few weeks ago, I went through the control panel and uninstalled a bunch of stuff that looked like it was associated with the Service Pack 2 and that didn’t fix the problem either.
How do I turn off the restore-monitoring for all drives?

Why does the Service Pack create such problems? I didn’t do this for my other hard drive that is currently installed?
    🙁

Anyone know why the SP2 would cause such problems and how I can fix it?
