I am going mad. I know my way around my mac pretty well…but I’m trying to export HDV footage from Premiere Pro CS3 to ProRes….but the ProRes option simply doesn’t appear in the Quicktime dropdown. I’ve looked in FCE and in Quicktime itself…there is no option to choose ProRes….am i missing something simple? I’ve got the latest version of Quicktime.

Should it appear as ProRes in the menu or as something else. I’ve got Apple Intermediate Codec…but thats different isn’t it?

please help…this is making me doubt my own mind.

    thanks

I think you need FCP on your computer to enable ProRes export. Otherwise, it’s only playback.

I’m pretty sure it’s got to be FCP. Licensing issues, or some such thing.
