  • can’t eject, drive not even seeing disc…

Posted by J. Tad newberry on June 30, 2007 at 7:03 pm

i was going to reinstall some software (the CGM package that i apparently had not originally installed) from my Final Cut Studio disc (V1). i put it in, and the disc never showed up anywhere in the finder, the eject key does not work, nor does the F12 key, nor does restart or shutdown.

odd that the computer wasn’t reading the disc, and odd that i can’t get it out now. any ideas?

    Hey mortimer . .

I had the same problem with the disc not ejecting, and then someone let me in on a little secret. Reboot the Mac, and hold the mouse button down. Depending on the mouse you use, it will either be left click or in the case of an apple mouse, just hold it down as if you were clicking on something.

This method bailed me out more than once!! Good luck, and let me know how you make out.
