  • Cant drag monos file to 5.1 tracks?

Posted by Johan Andreasson on February 1, 2016 at 5:44 pm

    Hello

I have 6 mono tracks to add to my 5.1 sequence. I’m choosing 6 5.1 track when creating the seq.
But I can’t drag my mono files in to the 5.1 tracks. What am I missing here?

    Thank you

    Thanks

That you need 5.1 audio if you want to drag it into a 5.1 audio track. Meaning, you can’t have 6 mono tracks…you need a single 5.1 audio file if you want to add it to a 5.1 track. To add the audio you have to the sequence, you need 6 mono tracks.

I don’t think I understrand. You write: To add the audio you have to the sequence, you need 6 mono tracks.
Now – this is exactly what I have. So in my sequence I have 6 5.1 tracks. And I want to drag my mono clips – one by one – to each 5.1 track. Problem is that the 5.1 tracks do not accept the audio clips for some reason.
(Just like a mono track do not accept mono clips)

    Thanks

Shane is referring to a 5.1 audio file…that is a .wav file with the 6 mono tracks all in one file.

since you have them in mono seperate tracks, you will have to make 6 mono tracks and put them in that way.

delete the 5.1 tracks you added.

After that you need to setup the mixer in premiere so that they are properly routed.

Ah, I see! Nog things starting to make sense.
I tried it and it seem to work, but one thing though, when I add the tracks and set them up in the mixer I get no levels in the Master then playing? I can hear them though.

    Thanks
