Can’t connect with 1394 cable
Just got the HPX500 and can’t get the cam and the G5 to connect via firewire. It’s set to “1394 device” under PC mode but I consistently get the “disconnected” screen even though they are both plugged in tight. It did connect once after half a dozen tries but I haven’t been able to get it connected again. The cable is a brand new Iogear. Bad cable maybe? I don’t have another cable to try. I never had this problem with my HVX200 . . . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks . . .

Looks like I’m not alone with this problem. Did you manage to get it work?

Yes, sometime it connects on its own after a few seconds but mostly it does not. However, it always connects if you wait and plug the firewire cable (which is already plugged into the computer) into the camera after it’s in PC mode. I know that this may not be the recommended method but it always works for me.
