I’m normally accustomed to being able to adjust, say, position, anchor point, etc., with moveable slidebars and things like that. For some reason, my AE CS4 is no longer allowing that as an option for any media I import, whether they’re psd documents, jpgs, .mov files, etc. Instead, in order to change a value, I have to right click whatever it is (scale, opacity, etc.), select ‘edit value’, then manually enter new numbers before I can see a difference. This is making it very nearly impossible to animate. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I feel like it must be some simple thing I’m overlooking. The comp is HDTV 1080 29.97, and I’m running on Leopard. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I’m trying to get an animation done before my deadline expires. Thanks in advance.

My fix: control click into the top left part of your timeline, maybe on the word “Source Name” Then there pops up a window with “hide this” and “rename this” (grey) and “columns”. Move the cursor over columns and you can alternate the view for the timeline, enable “Switches” and this should do it. I hope.

That did it. Thanks a million.
