can’t access source window-crashing
Hello,
Apparently I have some kind of glitch happening- when I try to send footage from the bin area to the source window either my computer goes black then actually reboots- or it freezes up.
I can’t drag the footage into the source window either. Program window is working okay.
Running Win 2000- Premiere 6.5.
For kicks- tried the same thing on my 6.0 version-= and exactly the same thing is happening with that version too!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, have you made sure you have no viruses, firewalls, or any other backgrouns software running in the background?
Is this the first time this problem has occured or is it intermittent? Also have you tired a clean install of Winodws 2000 then tried installing Service packs for your Microsoft OS then installing Your Adobe Premeire software?
Let me know your findings?

The PC running Premiere is not hooked up to the internet-however- recently the whole thing crashed and I had to reload 2000.
Reloading again would be a problem- I would lose all my currently reloaded programs etc.
However- I never had this problem with Premiere before – so it may indeed be connected to the recent reload of 2000.
Is there anyway to repair the problem without having to do another 2000 reload? I can’t recall- is there a way to load 2000- tasking it to only do a repair without rewriting over everything?

Hello,
I’m not sure you can do a repair install. But if you format the drive then install a fresh 2000 witrh Service packs, and your edit software, you could then Symantec Ghost the drive image to a dvd or removable firewire drive etc, then you can always go back to a fully working configuration in about 5mins when you restor ethe image file. Thats what i do so much easier then having to re-install everything yet again when you develop a fault.
