  Canon XL H1 card error with Sony UHS-1 SDHC card

  I just bought a nice Sony UHS-1 SDHC memory card for use in my XL H1. I got the card error message, so attempted to ‘Initialize’ it with the menu commands, but continued to get the error.
  Internet searches aren’t bringing up much, and the only other thing I have to test it in at the moment is an old Canon Powershot, which also gives me a card error. If I put it in my SD card reader, it does appear mounted on my desktop.

  My question then is, are the cameras I’m putting it in unable to read the card because the UHS-1 technology is too much for them? Is there a way to format the card with disk utility to make it work? Or is there actually something wrong with the card?
