Canon XH A1 s (PAL) HDV Cam & Premiere Pro CS4 (Mac) – No Preview in Capture Window
Hi there
I am using a Canon HDV Camera (PAL) XH A1s and Premiere PRO CS4 on my mac.
Snow lepard. 16 GB RAM.When I try to capture, I can only see the pink placeholder image that says: “Camera preview”. I may remote the camera in VCR mode, but I may not see any preview picture.
I tried to change the cable, I used another firewire port. Both did not help.
I used a older FCP version to test. There I can see the preview and scrath back and forth on the tape and set my ins and outs.
This MUST work somehow in Adobe premiere pro.
May anybody help?

Alas no preview while capturing hdv, that is for Windows but i assume the Mac is the same.

Strange. As there is that placeholder pic that says “camera preview” I think this was intended to indicate, where the preview should be displayed?
Does not really make sense to me.How do you edit without a display on screen?
