    Hello Anybody,

I shoot a lot of small one-minute videos for the internet. I own a Canon XH-A1 camera and wonder what the best frame rate to shoot at is to prevent interlacing issues on output.

I have shot at 60i and moved to 30p frame rate. I’m shooting in standard 16×9. The project I set up in is 30i. Does this make a huge difference? I have no 30p option.

I usually output it to a DV/NTSC quicktime file, and click the “de-interlace source video” option. I also have it in best quality under “progressive” output. Any ideas?

Just wondering what’s the best workflow from that camera for web videos.

    Thanks.

shoot 30p and set your Avid project to 30i. The camera will only take one full “sample of time” every 1/30th of a second and then split this into the 2 fields to create a 30i. It may sound confusing but if you shoot something with fast motion at 60i and something else at 30p and then open the clips in effects mode so that you can step thru frame by frame you will see the difference.
