    Hey guys and gals;

    First time trying to log HD video from Canon XH A1. My signal setup when recording on camera was set to: HD – 24F – 1080i/480i. When logging to Final Cut Pro 5.0.4, I changed my Audio/
    Video Settings (Capture Presets) to: DVCPRO HD 24 Copy, due to the fact that I captured on 24 F.

    My problem is: once log and capture is done, instead of video logging in as one entire .mov file, it becomes about 50 movie files which are about 20 seconds long. I can’t work with that!!! Also, while capturing, my capture window is always about 47% behind the actual footage playing on camera. Final cut makes a not of it and tells me to look at my camera for monitoring.

    Are my capture presets wrong? I thought of setting capture presents to HDV, gonna try that now. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

    24p HDV was not supported until 5.1.2.

    I think he means that effectively capturing HDV was not supported until 5.12. In my experience, just because something isn’t officially supported doesn’t mean you can’t partially get away with it.
