    Hi,

Called canon but it takes them a while to get back.

Anyways, 4 canon xf305s, I am trying to connect them to do the following.

    1) Timecode – I was able to get the timecode work, but only between two cameras. I had to use a splitter for the BNC cable in order to connect the cables on 3 cameras (splitter is on the master and from the splitter two cables go to the 2 slaves cams). The cables are going to stay there all the time, it’s a studio. What if I want to connect the timecode to 5 cameras? Do I have to use 2 more splitter? Is that really how they wanted to do it?

    2) Genlock – I need a bit more info here, but it’s supposed to get the picture and audio in sync right? So, I will use that to get the deck in sync with the cameras. Again, if I want to connect 3-4 cameras I need to use splitters? Seriously, canon?

On our older cameras, you would have on for input and one for output and there, no need for splitters, you were able to connect n cameras to this loop.

    3) One feature we had on our older cameras is that one camera was the master and when 1 will push record, the other will start recording at the same time. Is this possible with Canon?

    Thanks,
    Emanuel

Canon was pretty helpful in this situation. Answered all my 3 questions!

Coming in late. What was the answer? I might need it someday.

    Hey there Emanuel

I was wondering if you could shed some light on your answers from canon. Experiencing timecode issues myself from this camera and not getting much help from canon.

    Thanks!

    Nick
