Canon XF305 On screen display printed on to the video!!!
Unique issue!! I just shot something yesterday and when I transferred the footage on to FCP to my shock I saw that all the info / OSD info has been printed on to the video… is there any way I can get this removed… will a camera to camera transfer help? I am clueless… and so is the cameraman… I know I can get it done on SMOKE frame by frame – but it will take time and its expensive… I have to edit and deliver the stuff in the next 4 days…. so please help if someone has had this unique problem… you can email me at pa******@***il.com

Looks like Character Record was on in the OSD menu. There’s no easy way to remove it.

Thanks Jack… I contacted the Canon engineers here in India as well, and they had no solution to it… so I back on the shoot floor – re-shooting the sequences…
Why on earth is a function like OSD print to tape necessary on cameras?
