I just got the Canon VIXIA HF M40 and I’ve never had to transcode anything.
How do I convert the mts files in order for them to work in after effects and premiere?
Is cineform neoscene the best option for batch converting? Anything free and headache free. Can premiere do it?
It seems the Canon software doesn’t do it.

[jason zaloga] “I’ve never had to transcode anything.”
Why not? What’s changed?

I’m under the impression that CS6 can handle AVCHD directly.
I know with FCPX I just point to the folder, as recording by the camera, and I import.

I just got the camera, that’s why I never had to transcode anything. Once I bring it into premiere or after effects what would be the best settings? I do not have final cut.
