    Hey all,

It has been quite a while since I posted a question here, glad to be back though.

In 2012 my family and I went to New York City and I almost documented everything with my new Canon T3i/600D (shoots in 1080HD and 25fps). Now that I finally have some spare time I want to make a little movie/documentary using the footage I shot in NYC. I want to be able to show it on the bigscreen TV downstairs using a DVD player. How should I go about this? I live in The Netherlands so we’re using PAL here. I’ve tried a variety of different templates and render settings and I came up with the following setup:

    – New template: HD108050i 1920×1080 25fps, frame rate 25.000 PAL, pixel format 32 bit floating point video levels, full resolution rendering quality best, motion blur gausian, deinterlace method none
    – Render 1: mpeg2 DVD architect PAL WIdescreen video stream – Render 2: dolby digital ac3 audio Sterio DVD
    – In dvd arhitect: single movie, dvd, mpeg 2 750x576x50i 16:9 PAL with ac3 audio

I would like to ask you guys if this is correct? I do not want any quality loss. I think the total amount of hours is around 2 hours. Are these the best settings?

    > “I do not want any quality loss”

Your source video is full HD (1920×1080), whilst DVD PAL size is 720×576
As you can see – huge loss of quality!
Consider BluRay disks instead of DVDs
