  • Canon fs100 – any way for it to work with FCP?

    Hi!

I just bought a used Canon FS100. When I connect the camera to my Mac OS10.5.7 through the USB cable and try to do a Log and Transfer from the camera, it says that the files aren’t compatible with FCP. The camera saves the videos as .mod, .moi, and .pgi files.

I think I got my log and transfer as a plugin specifically for a Sony EX camera which uses SD cards, too.

Is there a different log and transfer plugin I need for the Canon FS100? Or is this camera just not compatible with FCP?

Any quick help would be great as if it’s not compatible I will need to return the camera.

Thanks so much for any help! Sorry if I’ve not included crucial info – I would be happy to fill in any blanks I’ve left.

I’d look around for a Canon user group that deals with that camera. check the FCP7 marketing pages at apple.com to see if those filetypes are on the list of compatible files. Canon and Nikon are known for taking their own paths to video and raw image processing that incur gross incompatibility issues with industry norms. Bastards.
