Canon EOS 7D and double system audio recording
Hello,
I’m entertaining the idea of using double system audio recording with the Canon EOS 7D camera. I would record from a shotgun mic and mixer to an audio recorder.
I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations on recording devices and what is important when evaluating them. My preference would be one with XLR inputs. I’ve been looking at the Zoom H4n and the Tascam DR-100.

I have the zoom h4n specifically for use with the 7D and love it.
Pleuraleyes is a FCP plugin that will sync up all your audio after the fact. I was actually surprised how well it worked. -
I am an audio pro. I have used hi end time code recorders of many types. The Zoom is awesome. I experienced drift of lip sync with Nikon D5000, but this was easily corrected by adjusting the duration of the audio clip in FCP.
I highly recommend this little jewel.
