Canon C300 and C100 Files into Vegas PRo
Posted by Thomas Roberts on January 25, 2013 at 11:39 pmHi guys,
How do I get Canon MXF files to play in Sony Vegas Pro. Do I need to transcode? Does Canon have a plug in? What is everyone doing?
I want to drop C300 and C100 files into the Vegas Pro Timeline.
Thanks,
T

For those of us who don’t have a Canon MXF camera… what happens with you drop C300 and C100 files into the Vegas Pro Timeline?

January 27, 2013 at 6:06 pmI don’t have direct experience with Canon MXF files but I know that I’ve been able to use Panasonic MXF without any difficulties. Just dropped on the timeline and created videos combined w MOV and MP4 files.

August 8, 2013 at 9:24 amCanon C100 produces MTS videos, while C300 generates MXF files. For Sony Vegas Pro, neither MTS nor MXF format is ideal for editing work. If you wanna get a smooth playback and editing workflow of your C100 & C300 footage into Vegas Pro, you can choose to transcode these files first. Of course, there are some plug-in exist there such as the Canon XF Utility for linking MXF files to editing program, but it does not work here.
You can get some tips here for importing C100 MTS to Sony Vegas Pro. For Canon C300 to Vegas Pro workflow, click here.
