  • Canon 7D Log & Transfer Directly From Camera?

Posted by Mark Fanjoy on January 24, 2011 at 5:01 pm

Can anyone tell me if I can conduct Log & Transfer directly from my Canon 7D, or will Final Cut only see the files from a card reader? I can’t see my camera as directory source from Log & Transfer.

BTW, I do have the Canon EOS Movie Plug-In installed.

    Thank you!

That’s the way it seemed to me. Just wanted to confirm with the Pros before I chased my tail!

Thank you for the quick response.

But you should still copy the card to a hard drive (and preferably make a back up to another drive) and then Log and Transfer from there.

    Thanks, Phil.

Whomever tagged this thread with “Should move to FCP Basics Forum”, sorry about that. I had no idea there was a basics forum. Not sure how I’m supposed to know what is basic (it all seems advanced to me sometimes!), but I will try to make best guesses and post appropriately.

    Thanks!

You’ll find this really useful, Shane’s Tapeless Workflow tutorial.

Don’t forget many of the answers are already here so doing a search before you post will often solve the issue sooner for you.
