What is the focusing range mean on the lens.
it has 1.2m-infinity and 2.5m-infinity.
When to use each of these two switches?If I’m shooting a person walking towards the camera and using auto focus to track face, which switch do I turn to to get the best result?

It depends how close they get to the lens. The two settings are minimum focus limiters so the 2.5mm-infinity has less distance to travel if the things you are focusing closest to are 2.5m or further away.
