  canon 650d with zoom H1 using a koss VC/20 audio hiss

  hi

  i just got a koss vc/20 so i can plug my zoom H1 straight into my camera and use it as an external mic. its similar to the sescom ln2mic-zmh4-mon. however i am getting a lot of hiss and hum when i use it. if i use the zoom h1 on its own the sound is crystal clear. i have tried fiddling around with the setting. if i set the attenuation on in the 650d it does help though the sound is far better using the H1 on its own. can anyone help on this matter. is there nothing i can do?
