I work for the digital video department of a company and lately we’ve had a reoccurring problem in which the camera will turn itself off during recording and that clip will be deleted. Has anyone else experienced this?

We use SanDisk Extreme CF Cards, 60MB/s, 32GB.

We were using third party batteries. Since the power cuts off, I’m wondering if this is the likely culprit. This has been an ongoing issue for a few months, occurring 5 times so far with four different shooters, which rules out user error. Wondering if there’s a reason third party batteries are so much cheaper than Canon’s… We had a third party charger spark a while back, so this is now my main suspect. Has anyone else experienced this?

I only use third party bats in a pinch, they usually dont let you know when they are going to croak. I try to use AC power whenever I can.
