I plan on buying this great lens:

    Canon 16-35 (2.8) L serie for my BMCC 2.5K

Its not cheap so I thought first to ask if any one has experience
using this lens for the BMCC. I heard that some lenses do not work
as far as apreture is concerned. I did see the website with a list
of lenses that supposed to work. Still, I think its always better to hear from some one who accually used on on the BMCC.

The Canon 16-35mm 2.8L works like a charm on all EF mount BMD cameras. We’ve used that lens from our collection since day 1 of the BMCC. Works great on the 4K too.

Whow great to hear. Hope to have this lens within a month.

Any tip for a good screwon ND filter for real bright sunlight.

Also need a filter for water. I am in the Caribbean and will be filming a lot in bright sun and ocean / pool surroundings.

Yeah, with a 82mm filter thread and running at 16mm wide, choices get slim. Our screw-on filters are 77mm so anything larger we use our Panavision sized filters and put them in the mattebox (which is usually the case anyway for any of our lenses). With that said, I’ve enjoyed using the Singh Ray Vari-ND filters over the years. They do have them in 82mm.

I’ve actually used a step down ring from 82 to 77 and it doesn’t vignette, even at 16mm. I used it with my Tiffen IRND filters and Xume adapters.

I’m curious if any of you have tried/compared the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 with this Canon lens?

Just for the record, aperture control on my original 16-35 L does not work on my BMCC 2.5k EF. Would love to find some sore of adapter to get it working.

I guess I am forced to replace it with a differn’t one or a mkII.
