    Hi everyone
I have a problem. When i try play a quicktime file, AE7 opens it in a footage window. So if i want to view it, i have to render it first. I thought it would be something in the preferences but I can’t find anything. We are several persons who work on this workstation on different shift. So maybe someone else did something but nobody knows! Anyway!

I had the same problem with WAV file. The only thing I did to solve the problem is replacing WAV files with AIF file. But now, I can’t replace QT file for something else.

Does someone had this problem before?

Sorry for the english mistakes, it’s not my first language.

Maybe I wasn’t clear. when you want to view a Quicktime file, you can double-click on the file in your project window. AE opens a media player window with a PLAY button. So you can play the video as well as if it was Quicktime player, but inside AE.

I’ve been working with After effect for 5 years now. It’s always been working that way.

So my problem is: when I do that now, AE doesn’t open the media player window anymore. It opens it like if had made an ALT-click. Another workstation where I work has not that problem. It’s the same machine, same version of AE.

    Any clue?
