  • Cannot restore offline media in Premiere Pro (dynamic link with After Effects)

    Hi,
I am editing in PPro CS6 and color correcting in AE. The clips I’m correcting are dynamically linked between the two platforms. I accidently just ejected my hard drive. Now when I reconnect it, I have a problem in PPro. I can bring back all of the media files that are not dynamically linked, but for those that are, they remain offline and when I go to Project -> Link Media, it is greyed out. How can I restore the dynamically linked media in PPro? This has happened once before, and the dynamically linked clips came back fine, so not sure why this time is different.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Mayeta,

what exactly is offline? The AE-Comp itself or the media inside the AE-Comp? If the media inside the AE-Comp is is offline, you have to go to After Effects and relink the footage there.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Nils,
The media on the Premiere Pro timeline is offline and I’m unable to relink the media.
It is fine and online in After Effects, just the same Premiere Pro files remain offline.

Me too. I think I’ll just give up on Dynamic Link – a couple of years on and it’s still infested with bugs.
