Cannot Drag Video from Source Monitor to Timeline?
Hi there,
I am working on a new Premiere Pro project. My problem is that I cannot seem to drag a video, marked with in and out points, from my source monitor to my timeline, V1 or V2 (I want it in V2). I am only trying to drag the video, but even when I hit insert or overwrite nothing happens.
Probably worth mentioning that the sequence in my source monitor is an After Effects composition. I have a feeling that this might be something to do with the problem, although all sequence settings are matching.
I am new to After Effects, and I have found creating a workflow between the two programs quite challenging.
Please help!

What version of Premiere Pro are you using? There was a recent update to CS6 to address problems with in and out points in the source monitor. Try updating to see if that resolves the issue.
If you set the in and out points in the source monitor, can you drag the file from the Project panel onto the timeline?
With regard to workflow, creating a Dynamic Link from Premiere to the AE project works well for me. If both files are open simultaneously, save the AE project whenever changes are made. The updates will be reflected in Premiere relatively quickly.

I am using CC, with everything up to date.
Setting the in and out points and dragging from the project panel does work, so thanks for that quick fix, and for your advice on workflow! I’ve been seeing a lot written about the new Dynamic Link capabilities, so I guess it’s time to put it into practice.
