  • Can you replace a Motion Graphics Template and have all the graphics made with the old one update?

Had to make a tweak to a mogrt file created via After Effects and employed in Premiere Pro like 12 times.

When I make a new mogrt file in AE, it replaces the old one. Good. When I look at the graphics in the sequence/timeline they are using the original mogrt format. Is there a way to just replace the template in the Essential Graphics panel and have all the graphics in the project update to that new mogrt file?

    Answered my own question.

    YES.

As of Pr 12.1 / Ae 15.1 Ae mogrts that have been used in a Pr sequence can be replaced with a new version of the template by alt/opt dragging an updated version onto an existing aegraphic in your sequence. You can choose to have the template updated everywhere it was used in the project or restrict the change to that one instance. Where possible, Premiere Pro preserves your customizations.
