March 15, 2006 at 8:28 pmThank you. I know this was the case in previous posts last year. I just wanted to make sure it was still a good choice. Is there a particular model type that I should as for, or just the latest one will do??

March 16, 2006 at 10:50 amCurrently I’m using a HP light Scribe burner and it burns any brand of media I throw at it and have never got a return from a sale that didn’t work for a customer. Never got a ‘coaster” from the HP either.
Problem with Sony I’ve found is they’re too particular about their recommended brands of media.
There’s a post below this one where a member had problems with a DRUxxA Sony burner. You can scroll down and read through that one too.

March 17, 2006 at 3:21 amI just built a new system and had planned on using Plextor PX 716A’s, but based on advice in this forum I decided against them. Instead I went with NEC ND-3550A drives and they are awesome, and the best part is you can find them for under $40. They read everything, burn double layer etc, and they are very fast. I put in 3 for less than what one Plextor would have cost.
