  • Can you recommend a remote pan/tilt head for the HVX?

I forgot to include this question in my last post… Does anyone have recommendations for an HVX pan/tilt head setup for wall mount that is budget conscious?

It seems like there are the little Bescor/Grizzly models that are very basic and don’t recommend a camera over 6.6 pounds, and from there you jump up to the Camera Turret and Varizoom heads that cost thousands.

Is there anything in the middle? Smooth motion isn’t critical as most shots will be static.

    Thanks for your time

I use the cheap Bescor ($130) and it works fine for simple pans.

You definitely get what you pay for, but it works.

If you get into using a Red Rock system with the HVX, you will need to go with a better system.

I’m not sure what the range on that head is, but do you have any problems tilting up after you tilt all the way down? For my application the camera would only be loaded with a battery and two P2 cards, but the weight is still a little over their recommendations I think. How quickly does it move around?
