Can you play / capture tapes shot on a JVC100 with a JVC250?
I have some tapes shot on a JVC 100, I believe in 24f. Can they be played and captured on a JVC 250? Some cams are finicky this way; just wanted to make sure, and I didn’t find an answer in the search function.

I should also ask if tapes shot on Sony HDV cams will play on the JVC? In particular, FX1000 and Z1U. I assumed all HDV was fair game, but I’ve had no luck trying to play these on Canon HV-30s.

Sony – HDV2but some years ago we shoot on 2 cameras, jvc-100 and jvc 200 (in hdv mode)
and cameras is INCOMPABILITY
tapes recorded on 100 don’t play on 200
its litte difference in hd modes.I don’t try play these tapes on BR-HD50, but i think it is works.

Wrong. I have a GY-HD100U and a GY-HD200UB and either HDV or SD tapes are interchangeable with them, either way. . . 100>200 or 200>100. I personally don’t know about the HD250, but I understand that it, too, is interchangeable with both the HD100 & HD200.
Also, tapes from either camera play and capture on the BR-HD50.
