Can you open a Vegas 14 project in Vegas 13?

October 30, 2016 at 9:14 amEven if you have both 13 and 14 open at the same time? It has always been essential to have both projects open at the same time if you wish to copy and paste between them. If this doesn’t work it might be worth exploring whether the other option I mentioned in my previous post might do the trick.

October 30, 2016 at 3:30 pmHi,
Open Vegas 13, then open Vegas14. In V14 open your source project.
Copy something on the timeline to the clipboard, then switch to Vegas13.
Don’t close Vegas 14, just switch to V13, and do the paste.
I tried this method before I actually suggested to Scott, and found it working.
I could transfer even the track motion keyframes to the other project in V13 this way.Best regards

October 31, 2016 at 5:13 amAgain did exactly as recommended with no joy. As reported earlier, all the commands are grayed out; thus, Paste does not show but then neither does ctl-v. One can copy/paste across a pair of open Vegas 13’s or 14’s but across versions does not work. What OS are you using and what version of Vegas 14? Perhaps some clue there?

October 31, 2016 at 3:38 pmI can also confirm it doesn’t work going from V13 543 to V14 161. That’s a real shame.

October 31, 2016 at 3:59 pmI tried to export a Premiere/After Effects .prproj from Magix Vegas Pro 14 –
and import the Premiere/After Effects .prproj to Sony Vegas Pro 13 – it’s certainly not perfect !
