I’m trying to scroll a text layer from bottom to top… dates actually — as a year passes thru a certain point I want it to change colors. I tried adding a solid color and then tried composite modes on the color, but it won’t work… or won’t work as much as my brain can make it work.

Any ideas on how best to do this???

    Thanks…

    Hi,

There are tons of ways of doing this. A simple method would be to apply the Render>Fill effect to your text layer, then animate the color parameter to change from one color to an other.

In case you produced all, or many dates on a single text layer, you could add a solid layer with the color you intend to have your text change to, then use a feathered mask to cover let’s say half of your comp, then assign this layer as a TrkMat in your timeline by checking the “T” box.

    Salut.

Thanks — I figured a workflow that worked for me… I had the solid above the text… sheesh. Below works fine for what I want.
