Your scenario is unlikely. But you would have alternatives. Also, unless you rented it from Adobe, your existing system does not vaporize if it becomes unsupported. Consider what forum you’re in, LOL.

FCX isn’t going anywhere. It has a 2 million download user base. It is mostly likely the most popular video editing software out there (in terms of users).
