  • Can Vegas be used as a live video mixer/titler?

    Hi all,
I am using the “Print to DV tape” feature of Vegas to output DV video over Firewire but I was wondering if it was possible to output a DV stream with a background video and have titles manually superimposed in real-time like a character generator (CG) or hardware titler. Thanks in advance.

No you cannot. Everything has to be pre-rendered first. Even when you print to tape, it must first render a DV stream and then prints that stream to tape. It cannot superimposed in real-time.

I would like to superimpose the current time and date at the beginning of the DV stream as it is being output over Firewire. Is there a software titler/mixer that could do this then?
