  • Can u render 16×9 to 4×3 ? Can u render HiDef to Standard Def ?

1 – If I shoot in 16×9 and leave content in the middle (4×3) area…

Will Vegas let me whack off the ends so that I can render the mid-section to 4×3 ? Or do you have to squish it or what?

2 – If I shoot in HiDef… will Vegas let me render to either HiDef or Standard Def?

3 – If I use two mic’s… one to the left channel and the other to the right…

Can I take the Left Channel of Audio and add it to the Right Channel… (L+R) so that both mic’s come out of both speakers?

    Thanks for any help.

    Yes to everything!

1 & 2. Select the appropriate Template when rendering

    3. Right click / Channels / combine

or, if you want more control,

    Duplicate the audio track.
On one track right click / channels / left only
On the other track right click / channels / right only

You can then control the relative volume and pan properties of each.

    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. Yes

And Vegas is great at changing between the various formats and is better than all other NLE’s when it comes to audio.
