Can these Hollywood Titkes easily be created with After Effects 6.5 pro?
I was wondering if anyone had tips in After Effects 6.5 pro how to replicate the text effects with 3d look and motion from the following film trailers? Hanninbal each character is pivoted with the movement.
Titles for Hannibal, The Day After Tomorrow and The War of The Worlds (Tom Cruise).
Would a dedicated 3D package be needed to achieve the perspective of each letter rotating on the Y axis?
Please see Examples trailers with these titles in the web-links so you can get the idea I am trying to achieve. They are all using similar styles and variations.
Could these easily be achieved using After Effects or would plug-ins be required maybe Zaxwerks Pro?
Thanks for any help and advice which can be given.

All three use really simple 3d, you’ll need invigorator if you wanna do it in AE. And once you get the hang of basic 3d principles you’ll see how easy it is to recreate… have fun.

I don;t have a lot of experience using Zaxwerks (a free plug-in that comes with AE Pro, non-educational), but it is designed to do this sort of stuff. You make your text (and logos) in Illustrator, and then Zax turns it into 3D objects.

I should point out that in the War of The worlds ad – the text doesn’t actually fip, so it may not really be 3D. could be text that has a Bevel effect applied to it, and then the AE effect called CC Lightsweep which passes over it.
