That’s 3d. Not really a true capability of Motion as of yet. There’s the basic 3d filter you have in Motion 2 and there’s a Zaxwerks plugin that gives you a lot more 2.5D functionality but I suspect that particular animation was completed using Shake and/or a 3D app like Maya or Cinema 4d.

That requires 3D space. Motion doesn’t currently have that, but I think that Zaxworks is now making a 3D plugin for motion.

I suspect that what you are seeing is largely After Effects and Trapcode Plugins.
